Indie Theatre 101 was a series of six workshops in 2024 that presented essential skills and actionable steps required to work in independent theatre in Brisbane. From the requirements of bringing an idea to life to budgeting tips and tricks, the workshops aimed to provide the vital information left out of creative industries and fine arts degrees in Brisbane. Feedback showed that the workshops not only helped emerging theatre artists, but also provided a decent baseline for any type of independent arts practice. Indie Theatre 101 showed excellent results and was an exciting step into IMRSE’s potential educational prospects. Indie Theatre 101 will return.
